The Tom Ireland Memorial Golf Outing
It has been 19 years since Tom’s passing. Tom Ireland was a very outgoing and special person. He was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in October of 2005. After having his esophagus removed in November, we thought he was on his way to recovery. We then found out in April that the cancer spread and there was no hope. He lost his battle with esophageal cancer on May 7, 2006 at the age of 52. Tom was a wonderful husband, great father and loving grandfather. He touched many lives. Tom was an active in his community athletics. He was a board member, softball coach and soccer coach. The one thing he loved to do was play golf. He wasn’t very good, but he couldn’t have cared less. Tom played golf the way he lived life, he enjoyed it.
The 19th Tom Ireland Golf Outing held last year raised $5,742 for Esophageal Cancer Research. We hope this year we can surpass this amount.
In the past 19 years we raised $113,537 ! It is people like you giving so generously that make this event so successful.
If you would like to help out by passing out donor letters to local businesses download the following form: Donation Letter 2025
We are always looking for additional money towards the cause, as well as door and raffle prizes from small businesses or individuals.
For the past 19 years we have held a golf outing in his memory so we can:
1) make people aware of the symptoms (click here for more information)
2) raise money for Esophageal Cancer Research, so this disease will be conquered.
